NEW YORK – John Cena joined 21 Make-A-Wish kids and families at the iconic Empire State Building to light up the New York City skyline "Bumblebee" yellow and black on Thursday.

The WWE Superstar joined the wish recipients and "Bumblebee" co-star Hailee Steinfeld for a special celebration at the New York City landmark before an exclusive screening of the action film, which is in theaters now. The occasion celebrates Cena and Make-A-Wish’s commitment to light up the lives of wish recipients around the world.

Cena has granted 500-plus wishes and counting, which is more than any other celebrity wish granter in the history of Make-A-Wish. He was recently awarded the Sports Illustrated Muhammad Ali Legacy Award. Cena is also a past recipient of Make-A-Wish’s Chris Greicius Celebrity Award. His “Never Give Up” motto has inspired not only the WWE Universe, but Make-A-Wish children and teens across the globe for more than a decade.

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. WWE Superstars have been granting wishes since the early 1980s, shortly after Make-A-Wish was founded, with a total wish count topping 6,000! For more on Make-A-Wish, visit wish.org.
