WWE.com and Pat McAfee Show contributor Mark Kaboly talks about the best opponents for Danhausen on Raw or SmackDown.
THE SETUP
Danhausen made his debut at WWE Elimination Chamber to what he himself has described as “thunderous applause.” True or not, he has won over WWE Universe in just a few weeks with some memorable backstage segments. His unique, personality-driven style opens a lot of possibilities, but soon we’ll need to see some of his “very evil, very nice” moves in the ring to make that happen, and not just for a T-Shirt give away. Danhausen might not be the type for long rivalries, but he can work with almost any Superstar. And don’t forget: “You… are… cursed.”
1. R-Truth: Arguably the funniest guy on the roster, Truth has to be at the top of the list when it comes to stepping in the ring with Danhausen. The possibilities are endless, especially as a tag team. "Truth-Hausen" would definitely put the E in World Wrestling Entertainment. Truth is one of the most-liked Superstars in the company, and his sense of humor is the main reason. That’s all we’ve seen from Danhausen so far (comedic relief), so to have those two cross paths backstage and then turn it into a match against another tag team would surely be a hit. The jar of teeth. The curse. The sometimes confusion associated with Truth. It’s a layup of a pairing that would get even the hardcore fans cracking a smile.
2. Uncle Howdy: Uncle Howdy and The Wyatt Sicks are unique and have a mysterious aura that very much could work as a rivalry. I don’t think it would be humor-based, but that would be a neat challenge for Danhausen. Still, the personality of the group could pair nicely with Danhausen’s perceived "supernatural" abilities. I hate to keep going back to the teeth, but the jar of teeth and the lantern do have specific unnatural properties associated with them. Danhausen trying to flip Uncle Howdy from a “very evil” perception to a “very nice” one would be interesting.
3. Kit Wilson: Wilson has been gaining traction with his pursuit of anti-toxic masculinity. Wilson’s persona is a lot of personality and humor wrapped together – just like Danhausen. Both guys are entertaining and make you laugh, so why not pair them against each other, as everything Danhausen does is based on toxic masculinity? There was already a social media exchange between them where Kit referred to Danhausen as “very unhappy, very toxic,” which got the response of Danhausen calling him “Kirt.” With WrestleMania 42 a little more than a month away, a gimmick match placed in the right time and place would be something we all would like to see.
4. Paul Heyman: This is what makes Danhausen so interesting. He could stand next to R-Truth and be believable, and he can go to the other end of the spectrum and have something with the WWE Hall of Famer Heyman and make that gold as well. Hear me out. Have Danhausen reveal that he is the one who caused all the misfortune of The Vision, as he secretly put a curse on them because of them not being “very nice.” I just think the interactions between Danhausen and Heyman would be pure entertainment and maybe a way to get Danhausen over more if Heyman has his people attack him. It would certainly bring more heat on The Vision.
