WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth def. Primo & Epico

Feeling invigorated from their successful title defense at The 25th Anniversary of SummerSlam, WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth took the fight to Primo & Epico in a non-title match. Both sides put their impressive talents to good use, with the reigning titleholders blending their all-around abilities well while the perfect chemistry of the former champions helped them keep pace.

Primo’s failed Backstabber attempt ultimately proved to be his side’s undoing, granting his adversary with a prime opportunity to connect a knockout blow. R-Truth obliged, leveling Primo with a lethal reverse STO to seize a victory that impressed everyone at Rabobank Arena — everyone, that is, except The Prime Time Players, who watched their SummerSlam opponents in action while providing guest commentary alongside Michael Cole at ringside.

Chaos consumes the WWE Tag Team Champions’ post-match interview

Kofi Kingston admitted to Matt Striker during an interview segment that the WWE Tag Team Champions are “willing to take on all comers,” but he likely did not mean for it to happen all at once. Unfortunately, the titleholders found themselves mired in a melee that included all of the tag teams aspiring to be the next No. 1 contenders, including The Prime Time Players, The Usos, Primo & Epico as well as Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel.

News of the brawl reached the SmackDown GM, who turned to Teddy Long for advice. However, Eve stepped in and impressed Booker T with her research on the tag team division, leaving the GM’s Senior Advisor speechless as well. (WATCH)
