WWE's infamous love triangles
It's the season - and day - of love. However, while you're eating chocolates or smelling the roses your "boo" may have gotten you for Valentine's Day, Eve may be wondering just what she gotten herself into at Raw SuperShow between Zack Ryder and John Cena. It's like "Twilight" between the ropes, and we're afraid of vampires. And Kane.
Eve, though, is not the first WWE Superstar or Diva to be entangled in a love triangle. Oh no, not even close.
Edge, Big Show and Vickie Guerrero (Photos)
We've tried since 2009, but we just can't erase it from our minds. Then-General Manager of SmackDown, Vickie Guerrero, kissing Big Show and slapping him on the butt. Now, the laughter may ensue from this moment, but don't forget Vickie was married to Edge at the time. And what did she get for her wandering lips? An accidental Spear from The R-Rated Superstar. Blessing in disguise, we might say.
Christian, Trish and Chris Jericho
In 2003, fan-favorite Trish Stratus found herself embroiled in a Canadian love story. With two men - Christian and Chris Jericho - vying for her love and affection, Stratus was in quite the quandary. The intensity of the storyline culminated with a match at WrestleMania XX between Y2J and Captain Charisma. What did we learn about love triangles from Ms. Stratusfaction? Be careful what you bet a Canadian dollar for.
Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth (Photos)
Once "Macho Man" Randy Savage won his first WWE Championship, everything seemed to be going his way - that is, until his Mega-Powers partner, Hulk Hogan, formed a strong friendship with Miss Elizabeth. Savage let jealousy creep in, culminating in an unforgettable WrestleMania V clash between the two Superstars.
Col. Parker, Sherri and Madusa
Note to self - if you have a significant other, don't court another person and then attempt to marry them. You hear that, Col. Parker? In WCW, it seemed like a perfect day - a marriage between Col. Parker and Sherri Martel. However, it was more like "White Wedding Blues," if you ask us. As Paker and Martel were to be joined in holy matrimony, Madusa, claiming to be Parker's girlfriend, intervened, attacking Sherri. Hey, they don't call her Madusa for nothing.
Matt Hardy, Lita and Edge (Photos)
Sometimes stories that take place over the ropes make the best television, no matter how hurtful and personal they may be. This was the case with the sordid love triangle between Matt Hardy, Lita and Edge. It was revealed that Lita, Matt's then-longtime girlfriend, had been having an affair with The Rated-R Superstar. Hardy's love for Lita and anger at both for their actions led to some amazing matches the WWE Universe still talks about to this day.
Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Kurt Angle (Photos)
Despite countless denials from both parties, Kurt Angle and Stephanie McMahon had been making eyes at each other for months, catching the ire of her husband, Triple H. Hey, here's a thought: if you're married to The Cerebral Assassin, why not make him more jealous by managing the guy you've been staring at and cause drama at every single turn? Check. Mate.
