An Orlando native and graduate of the University of Central Florida — where she studied microbiology and molecular biology — Fuentes also competed in the Miss America organization, winning a number of titles, including Miss UCF and Miss Volusia County.

“I was actually en route to getting my doctorate in physical therapy when I was gifted a great opportunity [to join WWE],” she told WWE.com.

Fuentes arrived at the WWE Performance Center in May of 2014 to train to become a WWE Diva. Her athletic background as a swimmer, diver and gymnast helped her learn the ropes until a knee injury sidelined her in the summer of 2014.

“That’s where the true colors of WWE showed,” she explained. “Everything from therapy to rehab, everything to get me back into the ring was phenomenal.”

After returning from the injury, she was presented with the opportunity to join NXT’s broadcast team, which meant leaving the ring behind.

“With my pageant background, it just felt right,” she said. “I felt very comfortable and confident doing that.”

In addition to conducting interviews on NXT television, she’s also serving as a host at NXT Live Events, one of her favorite parts of the job.

“I love the live hosting aspect and getting to know our fans,” she said. “I get to be the bridge between the Superstars and the [NXT] fans. It’s the best of both worlds.”

While she’s focused on helping to relay all the latest news and insights from the NXT locker room every week, Fuentes is excited for what the future holds.

“WWE is such a large and amazing company,” she said. “I’m looking forward to the endless amount of possibilities it presents.”
