Chris Jericho defeats Stone Cold Steve Austin to become Undisputed Champion

This match was held to unify the WCW and WWE Championships and crown one Undisputed Champion. In order to get to this match, Chris Jericho had to defeat The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated Kurt Angle. Both Superstars had gone through hell already, but they were still one step away from their ultimate goal.

This wild one started with interference right from the beginning as Angle knocked out Austin, and The Rock laid out Jericho. They both recovered and went back and forth for a while until Austin ducked out of the way of a flying forearm, causing Jericho to take out the referee. With the referee down, Mr. McMahon came to the ring and ordered Nick Patrick take over as the referee. Ric Flair came down to intervene, and he and the Chairman had their own showdown.

Stone Cold was able to take the advantage and even locked Jericho in his own signature maneuver, the Walls of Jericho. Y2J began to tap, but there was no referee in sight. With that, Booker T stormed the ring from out of the crowd and leveled Austin with the WWE Championship belt. Jericho made the cover on the fallen Austin, and the original referee recovered in time to make the pin, making Jericho the Undisputed Champion.
