WWE Championship Match
Undertaker def. Hulk Hogan to become new WWE Champion

This was the first time a non-elimination-style match was at the Survivor Series. So, it was only fitting that the WWE Championship was on the line as Hulk Hogan faced Undertaker. The Deadman had debuted merely a year earlier at the 1990 Survivor Series. He quickly skyrocketed up the singles division and seemed impervious to pain. This was indeed Hogan s gravest challenge.

Undertaker jumped out to an early advantage as he choked out the Hulkster with a steel cable. The Deadman hit a flying clothesline and even hit the Tombstone, but Hogan was able to kick out, behind the support of his Hulkamaniacs. Hogan then started Hulking up as the crowd seemed to make him stronger and stronger.

After Hogan bodyslammed the big man, Ric Flair made his way to ringside. He tried to steal Hogan s WWE Championship belt, but Hogan was able to stop him. Hogan then hit the big boot, but when he went for the leg drop, Paul Bearer grabbed his leg. The referee went to admonish Bearer, and with him distracted, Flair tossed a steel chair into the ring. Undertaker then got Hogan up for the Tombstone and drove him head-first onto the steel chair for his first WWE Championship.
