The Tag Team and Women’s divisions continue to heat up
OK, in spite of a few enticing comments from General Manager Daniel Bryan on “Talking Smack,” so far there is no Tag Team or Women’s Title on SmackDown Live. But, to watch the members of those respective divisions in recent weeks, you definitely wouldn’t know it.
Instead, the action has been, in a word, incredible. Last week, the WWE Universe saw a slew of tag teams descend on the ring to form an all-out melee, perhaps resulting from comments made by the confident American Alpha about the fire they intend to light under their competitors. The question now is: which tandem will look to make a statement next? They will all get a chance to make that statement in a 12-Man Tag Team Match that will see American Alpha team up with both The Usos and The Hype Bros as they take on Breezango, The Vaudevillains and The Ascension.
The Women’s division has been just as fierce. Last week, two of SmackDown Live’s up-and-coming female warriors made their debuts: Alexa Bliss overcame Becky Lynch with the help of Eva Marie and her controversial wardrobe malfunction and Carmella upset an irate Natalya. Will these emerging competitors face retribution at the hands of their more entrenched adversaries? Will Eva Marie finally have her spectacular debut?
In short, there may not be any title to fight for as of yet, but that’s not stopping these SmackDown Live competitors from kicking it up a notch to prove they’re the best Team Blue has to offer. And we can’t wait to see what they do next.
