SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Dec. 31, 2015

Rocking in the new

Mr. McMahon is arrested: Raw, December 28, 2015

After getting physical with officers from the New York City Police Department, Mr. McMahon leaves Raw in handcuffs.

Tonight will not only be the final SmackDown of 2015, but also the last episode before Thursday night’s hottest show moves to USA Network. Perhaps there is no better way for big blue to ring in the New Year than to watch WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns & Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose attempt to ring the collective bell of Sheamus & Kevin Owens.

On Monday, the WWE Universe learned that Reigns will put his coveted title up against The Celtic Warrior on the first Raw of 2016 – with none other than WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon acting as special gust referee.

This news will only add to the tension between the four combatants featured in SmackDown’s explosive tag team main event, pretty much guaranteeing that the peace and love so often seen in this merriest of seasons will probably be off the table. But, perhaps they can at least join together in a good old destruction of the SmackDown announce table? Find what goes down when tag team mayhem ushers in 2016, tonight at 8/7 C on Syfy.

Follow the Buzzards to Uso-Crazy

Dean Ambrose & The Usos vs. Sheamus, Rusev & King Barrett: Raw, December 28, 2015

The Lunatic Fringe and The Usos battle three members of The League of Nations.

While we’re on the subject of top-notch Samoans in big matches, The Usos are coming to the New Year’s Eve edition of SmackDown, attempting to fly high against two members of The Wyatt Family. But what two members will it be? And will the Tag Team of the Year be enough to turn back the darkness?  Regardless of who wins, you do not want to miss a second of this one, folks.

A New Day for the new year?

Sin Cara vs. Big E: Raw, December 28, 2015

After Kalisto defeated his tag team partner, Kofi Kingston, Big E attempts to flatten Sin Cara.

Last Monday on Raw, Sin Cara suffered a dislocated shoulder, thanks to WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day’s nefarious actions in individual matches against The Lucha Dragons.

Like them or hate them – and let’s face it, you almost certainly hate them – the “Power of Positivity” is one dangerous trio. So will New Day rock in the new year? Or will someone finally step up and make squashing Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods their personal New Year’s resolution? Find out tonight at 8/7 C on Syfy.

Will the ‘Year of the Divas’ finish with a bang?

Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks: Raw, December 28, 2015

The Lass Kicker clashes with The Boss on Raw.

Yes, 2015 was a banner year for battling beauties, as WWE witnessed the rise of the Divas Revolution. And while the fallout of that movement has been nothing short of catastrophic – from scattered friendships to out-of-control egos – each moment has been more interesting than the last. With that in mind, don’t miss the final Divas match of the year, tonight on SmackDown, when Alicia Fox & Brie Bella step into the ring against Team B.A.D.’s Naomi & Tamina.

Who will make the next giant splash into the Royal Rumble?

After several Superstars crash "Miz TV," The World's Largest Athlete drops a huge bombshell on the WWE Universe.

On Monday, Big Show made a giant return on “Miz TV,” taking out … well everybody, before declaring his intent to enter and win the 2016 Royal Rumble. Who will dare to be the next to join the reigning winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal for a chance to headline WrestleMania?
