SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Sept. 24, 2015
What the hell is going on with Kane?
At Night of Champions, The Demon Kane returned out of nowhere, unleashing hell upon WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. However, the next night, it was a smiling, mask-less Corporate Kane who reappeared on Raw, ready to assume his duties as Director of Operations and claiming to know nothing about the fiery events of a day earlier.
If that wasn’t confusing enough, the happy-go-lucky Authority figure awarded The Architect his rematch against United States Champion John Cena. But, in the final moments of that contest, it was Demon Kane who broke through the ring and pulled Rollins down to hell.
WWE.com has learned that Kane is scheduled to kickoff SmackDown tonight on Syfy. But which Kane will end up making his impact on Thursday night’s hottest show? Will Rollins be on hand, after being dragged into the darkness? If so, how will he respond to the outrageous series of events?
Who will get the edge in a tag team juggernaut?
As announced earlier this week on Raw, new Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens will join forces with Rusev against Ryback and Dolph Ziggler. After the Prize Fighter snatched the title from The Big Guy, with the help of a rake of the eyes, Ryback is hungrier than ever for a little payback. It was Corpus Christi, Texas – where tonight’s SmackDown is airing from – where the irate Superstar first captured his title. You can bet he will be gunning for the Superstar that took it away from him.
Add to the mix Ziggler’s continued trouble with Rusev. After Summer Rae’s mishap caused The Bulgarian Brute to fall short at Night of Champions, he picked up a bit of vindication on The Showoff in a Six-Man Tag Team Match on Raw. In light of his rage, it will be interesting to see if can Dolph strike back tonight, and what, if anything, Summer will think about it if he does.
As these four competitors gear up for all-out war, whose fury will scream the loudest? Find out tonight at 8/7 C.
A Paige turns in the Divas Revolution
On Monday night, Paige ruined new Divas Champion Charlotte’s emotional celebration. Not only did The Diva of Tomorrow tell off her fellow Team PCB members, Charlotte and Becky Lynch, but also Team B.A.D, Summer Rae, Lana, Team Bella and even Natalya.
Charlotte is scheduled to address the WWE Universe tonight. But, will Paige be back by her side? And what will ultimately be the fallout of the English Diva’s comments?
Targeting the Family … ‘Believe that!’
On Raw, Roman Reigns took The Wyatt Family to task, goading Bray Wyatt in a one-on-one brawl. And when Braun Strowman and Luke Harper did join the mayhem, Dean Ambrose and a returning Randy Orton helped send them packing.
Don’t miss a second of tonight’s show to see how this explosive situation will spill onto SmackDown.
A good old, high-flying New Day
Tonight at 8/7 C, WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day will take on Neville & The Lucha Dragons for the first-time in history. Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have been very busy as of late, surviving The Dudley Boyz with a disqualification victory at Night of Champions and now preparing to face them again on Oct. 3 as part of WWE Network’s Live from MSG special event.
But first, they will encounter a whole different kind of enemy, the high-flying, fast-paced trio. Coming off back-to-back battles inside The Cosmic Wasteland, The Man That Gravity Forgot and his masked cohorts will definitely be looking to take The New Day to new heights. But will it be enough to defeat the two-time titleholders?
