Cena’s U.S. Open challenge kicks off SmackDown

John Cena vs. Bad News Barrett - United States Championship Match: Raw, April 13, 2015

The Champ kicks off a special London edition of Raw by putting his title on the line against England's own Bad News Barrett.

SmackDown is in the United Kingdom tonight and The Champ is most definitely here. Just 10 days before he will battle Rusev in the first-ever televised Russian Chain Match at Extreme Rules on WWE Network, United States Champion John Cena will reportedly light the fuse on Thursday night’s hottest show with a continuation of the U.S. Title Open. But who will emerge from the locker room to challenge him?

While no one can accuse Cena of not being a fighting champion, the frequency that he continues to put his title on the line does raise serious questions as to whether he will even be the champion at the imminent pay-per-view. Could someone else be defending it against the Russian Tank a week from Sunday? And even if he does still have the red-white-and-blue title in his possession, is it all too much? By focusing on these high-stakes matches, is Cena leaving himself wide open for another Rusev chain assault?  Find out tonight on Syfy at 8/7 C.

Is Miz in for some bad news in London?

Damien Mizdow vs. The Miz: Raw, April 13, 2015

With The Miz's "The Marine 4: Moving Target" star by his side, Damien Mizdow faces his former employer on Raw.

The Miz will be a long way from Tinseltown when he battles England’s own Bad News Barrett inside London’s O2 Arena on Thursday. Will the home-field advantage spell bad news for the “A-Lister”? Barrett, focused on trying to get the Intercontinental Title back from Daniel Bryan at Extreme Rules, is neither in the mood for drama, nor Miz’s current promotion of his new movie “ The Marine 4: Moving Target.”

Then again, after suffering the embarrassment of losing to his former stunt double Damien Sandow on Raw, The Awesome Superstar will definitely be looking to get back on track. And bottom line, if there is one thing history has taught us, it’s never underestimate The Miz.
