SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Nov. 16, 2012

"Miz TV" goes Hardcore!

Mick Foley comes to the defense of Jerry "The King" Lawler.

Four days ago, a RAWactive poll selected The Miz to fill the vacant spot on Team Foley in this Sunday’s Survivor Series Tradition Elimination Tag Team Match. But will the outspoken Superstar be able to play nice with the team caption, Mick Foley, tonight on SmackDown?

Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy has never been one to shirk away from speaking his mind. Just this Monday on Raw, he tore into WWE Champion CM Punk in defense of the returning WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawyer. So does The Hardcore Legend plan of greeting The Awesome One as friend or foe?

And what about Miz’s relationship with the rest of Team Foley? Every single member of the union has had some sort of problem with former WWE Champion in the past — especially Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston, who captured his coveted title from Miz several weeks ago and has defeated him now four times in a row?

Team Foley vs. Team Ziggler

Randy Orton teams with Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston to face the duo of Dolph Ziggler & Alberto Del Rio on Raw.

Speaking of the Survivor Series Traditional Elimination Tag Team showdown, both Team Foley and Team Ziggler are made up of extremely volatile personalities — many of which most likely can’t stand their own teammates, let alone their opponents. You also must throw into the mix the injury Cody Rhodes suffered on Wednesday’s WWE Main Event, raising questions as to whether the grandson of a plumber is ready to back up his team tonight.

In the midst of such explosive circumstances, the WWE Universe should certainly expect some sort of pre–pay-per-view fallout on the last show before Sunday’s mega elimination match?

Will The Celtic Warrior make “Big” war two days early?

Sheamus teams with William Regal to take on Wade Barrett & World Heavyweight Champion Big Show.

Last Friday, after Big Show attacked Sheamus and William Regal in a Birmingham, England, pub — KO Punching the legendary Blackpool brawler — the first-ever Irish-born World Heavyweight Champion fiercely jumped to his mentor’s defense on SmackDown. But this Monday on Raw, while Regal watched The Celtic Warrior’s match in the back, the giant attacked again, delivering another devastating KO blow to the English competitor.

Will Sheamus look for retribution tonight on SmackDown? Or will he wait for the World Heavyweight Title rematch at Survivor Series to claim gigantic retribution?

Should Kaitlyn watch her back?

Layla and Kaitlyn face off on Raw in hopes of becoming the No. 1 contender for the Divas Championship.

On Monday, Kaitlyn was named the No. 1 contender to Eve’s Divas Championship. It is worth noting the first time the up-and-coming Diva earned that one-on-one opportunity was for Night of Champions, where she was taken out by a mysterious sneak attack moments before the contest.

Considering the still-active Aksana has since been identified as the culprit and Eve may or may not have been involved as well, is the challenger safe tonight? Will she survive for Survivor Series?

Will the Truth let Cesaro be?

R-Truth goes one-on-one with Tensai while United States Champion Antonio Cesaro observes from the commentary table.

This Sunday, United States Champion Antonio Cesaro will put his illustrious title on the line against R-Truth. WWE.com has learned R-Truth may be joining the SmackDown announce team during the Swiss competitor’s scheduled match tonight.

Considering the rocky road the two adversaries have traveled on the way to their pay-per-view matchup, could Truth and Little Jimmy look to make a statement by influencing the outcome of the European titleholder’s impending contest?
