Are The Shield hypocrites?
By now, the entire WWE Universe knows their name — The Shield.
After brutally attacking Ryback at Survivor Series, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns changed the entire landscape of WWE. ( PHOTOS) But one has to question if their actions contradict their words.
“We’re not renegades. We’re not mercenaries. We’re not The Nexus. We’re about principles. We’re about honor. Where honor no longer exists, we’re going to step in. We’re a shield from injustice.” — Dean Ambrose
Although WWE Champion CM Punk has been the one to reap the benefits of the group’s actions, they claim it is just “coincidence.” If Ryback or Cena were the ones being wronged, they would act on their behalf just the same, they said. ( WATCH: THE SHIELD EXPLAINS ITS MOTIVES)
But was putting Ryback through a table at Survivor Series in a 3-on-1 attack fair? What about yet another 3-on-1 attack on Ryback the next night on Raw? ( PHOTOS | WATCH). Despite his size, Ryback didn’t stand a chance. What honor is there in three Superstars attacking just one? And certainly, the unexpected attack on Tyson Kidd and Santino Marella on Nov. 20 didn't involve any honor. ( FULL STORY)
Despite the group’s claims, it begs the question: Is the black-clad trio being upfront about its intentions, or is there something more sinister lurking behind The Shield? As the group continues to make a major impact, the entire WWE Universe will be keeping a watchful eye on what their brand of justice will bring next.
