WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick

WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick

WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins and his WWE Hell in a Cell opponent, Brian Kendrick, are no strangers to one another, sharing a history that goes back to Perkins’ earliest days in sports-entertainment. Yet, that doesn’t mean The Fil-Am Flash has any easier time recognizing or respecting the man Kendrick has become.

The veteran Wizard of Odd — once a supportive mentor to Perkins — has grown determined to make the most of his late-career renaissance and has thought nothing of taking cheap shots at the Cruiserweight Champion. Embittered by coming up short at WWE Clash of Champions, Kendrick downed Perkins after the bell that night. Kendrick attempted to sneak-attack him again weeks later in the locker room area only to have a prepared, if disappointed, Perkins fend him off.

T.J. Perkins leaves Brian Kendrick down: Raw, Oct. 10, 2016

After accusing Brian Kendrick of being afraid, the self-professed "Wrestling Yoda" avoids a cheap shot from The Wizard of Odd.

Kendrick has proven that he can beat Perkins. The Post-Apocalyptic Scavenger defeated the champion in a non-title contest on the Oct. 3 Raw, making Perkins submit to the vicious neck crank known as the Captain’s Hook. Will the result be the same at WWE Hell in a Cell? Or can the exciting Fil-Am again rise above Kendrick’s cruel intentions and desperate measures to keep his title reign going?

Watch the thrilling action of Raw’s Cruiserweight division Sunday, Oct. 30, at WWE Hell in a Cell 2016, live on the award-winning WWE Network.
