Kurt Angle announced as WWE 2K18 Pre-Order Bonus

Kurt Angle announced as WWE 2K18 Pre-Order Bonus

Oh, it’s true — Kurt Angle is coming back to the virtual WWE Universe this fall.

The Olympic Hero confirmed that he will join WWE 2K18 as the venerated WWE video game’s Pre-Order Bonus. He made the surprise announcement recently on Twitter to the delight of WWE fans everywhere.

“I do a lot of things prematurely, & tweeting is one of them,” Angle tweeted. “But it’s true! I’m the official pre-order bonus for @WWEgames #WWE2K18!”

2K confirmed that two playable versions of Angle will appear in WWE 2K18, each representing key points in the career of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 inductee. Players can choose between the “American Hero” persona that defined him in WWE, or the “Wrestling Machine” persona that he made famous in ECW.

The official trailer announcing 2K’s choice of Angle as the WWE 2K18 Pre-Order Bonus premiered during Raw. It picks up where the official WWE 2K18 cover Superstar trailer left off, with The Olympic Hero retracing Seth Rollins' footsteps and finding some very important boots to fill.

Angle now joins an exclusive list of WWE Legends who previously participated as the pre-order bonus in 2K’s venerated series of WWE video games. He said in an official statement that 2K’s choice helped make his WWE homecoming feel that much warmer.

“I was thrilled to return to WWE earlier this year, be honored as a WWE Hall of Fame inductee and find a new home with the best in the business every Monday night as the Raw General Manager,” he said in a press release. “And now, I get to follow in the footsteps of many incredible names, like Bill Goldberg, Sting, Ultimate Warrior and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and be featured as the WWE 2K18 pre-order character.”

Seth Rollins unveils the WWE 2K18 cover on "SportsCenter"

Seth Rollins visits ESPN's "SportsCenter" to reveal the cover of WWE 2K18 and talk about the highly anticipated game.

Thursday’s announcement also confirms Angle as the second Superstar announced to join the WWE 2K18 roster of playable characters. He joins Rollins, this year's WWE 2K18 cover Superstar.

WWE 2K18 is not yet rated by the ESRB and is currently scheduled for worldwide release on Oct. 17, 2017, on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In addition, 2K will also bring the WWE 2K18 to Nintendo Switch this fall.
