The United States Championship was in true jeopardy on the Sept. 1, 2006 edition of SmackDown as Finlay defended the gold in a Triple Threat Match against Lashley and Mr. Kennedy.
Lashley looked to have the match won with Finlay in a pinning predicament until the crafty Kennedy crept in and rolled up Lashley to get one of the biggest wins in his career.
