After an acoustic performance by Durbin, who is a be a STAR spokesperson, Mayor Slay welcomed the WWE Universe to the rally. McMahon explained the be a STAR Alliance’s mission and Durbin, the Superstars and former Divas Champion shared their personal stories about their fight against bullying.

"I think it’s really important for the kids to know that although we’re WWE Divas or Superstars or champions, at one point we were in their shoes," said Eve. "But you cannot let others determine your future. Regardless of how bad it may seem, there is light at the end of the tunnel."

They urged the children in attendance to stand up to bullies and to tell a trusted adult — such as a parent, teacher or guardian — when they’re having a problem with bullies. They also reinforced that just because school is out for summer, the fight against bullying is not on vacation. Showing tolerance and respect happens year-round!

"It's easier to be nice to somebody than to be negative," Sheamus remarked before helping lead the children in the be a STAR pledge.

A child is bullied every seven minutes, whether it’s cyber, physical or verbal bullying. Through WWE and The Creative Coalition’s campaign, children around the globe are encouraged to “be a STAR: Show Tolerance And Respect.”
