John Cena replaces Fred Flintstone on the cover of Post Pebbles cereal
John Cena is a 10-time WWE Champion, two-time World Heavyweight Champion, a Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank winner, and a three-time recipient of the Superstar of the Year Slammy. And now, weeks before he enters the 2013 Royal Rumble Match, the Cenation leader has another accolade to add to his towering resume:
He’s going to be on the Fruity Pebbles box.
That’s right, you can add Fred Flintstone to the list of Cena’s vanquished opponents, as the 10-time WWE Champion will take the iconic cartoon character’s place as the face of Post Cereal’s Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles starting immediately and for a limited time. This isn’t the first time Cena has found himself associated with the beloved breakfast snack — he briefly adorned the Fruity Pebbles box last year after The Rock saddled Cena with the nickname “Fruity Pebbles” due to his bright-colored assortment of T-shirts.
But fans can expect far more than just a brief cameo by The Cenation Commander-in-Chief this time: Post will also be launching the PebblesMania.com interactive game, which gives the WWE Universe a chance to win VIP tickets to WrestleMania 30 in 2014 using a code found on specially marked boxes of Pebbles cereal. During the back-to-school period, Post will also publish 5 million new boxes with along with a photo app where the WWE Universe can create their own pictures with Cena.
In addition, Post has capitalized on Pebbles fever by launching a tailgating experience at the Royal Rumble (the practice will continue at all WWE Live Events), where the WWE Universe convened to create their own Pebbles-inspired fan posters and signs.
“It’s been a lifelong dream to be on a cereal box and I’m proud to represent WWE as part of our partnership with Post,” Cena said in a statement. “It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by Post, and I’m looking forward to joining millions of families at their breakfast tables across the country.”
