WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Bruno Sammartino

December 10, 1973 - April 30, 1977

Bruno Sammartino, who holds the record for the longest WWE Championship reign (almost 8 years), also became the first Superstar to win the WWE Championship twice. Although his second reign didn't come close to the length of his first, Sammartino held the WWE Championship for almost three-and-a-half years in his second go around as champ. During that time he had several memorable matches including a brutal steel cage match against Ivan Koloff, a Sicillian Stretcher Match against Stan Stasiak and a match against Stan Hansen in which Sammartino suffered a fractured vertebrae.
