Bret "Hit Man" Hart's third reign as United States Champion came at the cost of the same man that defeated Hart for the title in October 1998 - Diamond Dallas Page. The victory came on Monday Nitro. Two months later, Hart lost the U.S. Championship to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper on Nitro.
