Cricket giant Virat Kohli meets The Great Khali on Friendship Day; Rohit Sharma responds

An appearance by The Great Khali at WWE Battleground had an enormous impact on WWE Champion Jinder Mahal’s successful WWE Title defense against Randy Orton inside the Punjabi Prison. This past weekend, the former World Champion also made a huge impression with Virat Kohli, batsman extraordinaire and captain of both the IPL’s Royal Challengers Bangalore and the India national cricket team.

The two “giants” met up on Friendship Day, shortly after Kohli and the Indian cricket team completed a decisive victory in their second Test against Sri Lanka at Colombo. Though “Virat” is Hindi for huge, Kohli conceded at least 16 inches to The Great Khali while posing together for photos. He didn’t seem to mind, as he had nothing but praise for The Punjabi Giant and shared the photos on his social media accounts.

And now, making a friendly dig is fellow cricketer and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma, who didn’t want to miss out on a golden opportunity to remind Kohli who the real champion is. Maybe, just maybe, Kohli didn’t hear that Sharma and the team received a custom replica WWE Championship – embossed with the Mumbai Indians logo — as a gift from Triple H after they became the IPL champions last May.

The fun banter between these Indian cricket heroes proves that somewhere between their serious talent and hardcore skills lies a sharp wit and great sense of humor.
