Andrade “Cien” Almas, Johnny Gargano come to blows at NXT Live in Albany, N.Y.
Days before they clash for the NXT Title at TakeOver: Philadelphia, champion Andrade “Cien” Almas and Johnny Gargano crossed paths in an impromptu skirmish at an NXT Live Event in Albany, N.Y., Thursday night.
As seen in a video posted on NXT’s Twitter account, Almas ambushed his TakeOver challenger from behind while Gargano was being addressed by Almas’ business manager, Zelina Vega. Though El Idolo attempted to put Gargano down with the Hammerlock DDT, Gargano turned the tables and sent Almas scrambling for high ground.
After the dust-up, Gargano told Almas to enjoy the NXT Championship while he can, because come TakeOver, Johnny “Freaking” Wrestling will make good on his goal to win the black-and-yellow brand’s top crown.
Watch video of the incident below, and be sure to tune in tomorrow night to see Almas and Gargano square off at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia, streaming live exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network at 8 ET/5 PT.
With just two days left until their match at #NXTTakeOver, @AndradeCienWWE and @JohnnyGargano exchange blows in #NXTAlbany. #JohnnyWrestling makes a big statement and vows he will give everything he has. pic.twitter.com/JzFWLD2vkc
