The dust settles from NXT TakeOver: New Orleans
Following an incredible night at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, new NXT Champion Aleister Black begins his reign after defeating Andrade “Cien” Almas for the top prize on the black-and-yellow brand. However, Black’s victory was only one of the major developments coming out of Saturday night. Shayna Baszler dethroned Ember Moon for the NXT Women’s Championship in a brutally hard-hitting contest, and The Undisputed Era’s Adam Cole prevailed in the awe-inspiring Ladder Match to become the first-ever NXT North American Champion. That wasn’t the only highlight of the evening for The Undisputed Era, as Cole & Kyle O’Reilly retained the NXT Tag Team Titles when Roderick Strong shockingly turned on partner Pete Dunne and joined the dastardly faction.
On top of all that, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa closed out NXT TakeOver: New Orleans with an insanely brutal contest that saw Gargano regain his spot on the NXT roster in a war that will be remembered in WWE lore for the rest of time.
Now the big question remains: What’s next for sports-entertainment’s hottest brand?
