Disqualifications are thrown out the window in Ohno vs. Itami
Rules can no longer contain the hostile rivalry between Kassius Ohno and Hideo Itami.
That much was clear after their hard-hitting clash on July 26, when Itami was disqualified for a blatantly illegal low blow. Indignant over the referee’s decision, Itami continued to batter Ohno after the bell, wrecking him with Go To Sleeps and smashing him into the steel ring steps.
With retribution on his mind, Ohno requested and was granted a No Disqualification Match by NXT General Manager William Regal last week, setting the scene for tonight’s destructive confrontation.
A duel between Itami and Ohno — newly embittered foes who also happen to be two of the world’s elite strikers — is a recipe for carnage under the gentlest of scenarios. The removal of disqualifications gives them free rein to brutalize each other however they want. Don’t miss this lawless battle tonight on NXT, streaming exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network.
