As a result of last week’s eventful face-to-face between NXT Champion Bobby Roode and his TakeOver: Brooklyn III challenger, Drew McIntyre, the NXT Universe will witness a must-see showdown involving Roode’s No. 1 contender tonight on the final NXT before TakeOver this Saturday.
Somehow, the wily Roode turned a situation last week that had him caught in between his TakeOver challenger and a frustrated Roderick Strong, into a match pitting his two adversaries against one another. As a result, McIntyre will battle Strong just three days before he tries to win the NXT Title from The Glorious One in Brooklyn.
Strong was more than happy to accept the match, given the stipulation that he will get a chance to battle Roode at some point in the future if he can pick up the victory over McIntyre. As for McIntyre, he further gained the approval of the NXT Universe by eagerly accepting a clash against Strong tonight and proving he’s willing to fight anyone at any time.
Can Strong defeat the No. 1 contender and earn an opportunity to get his hands on Roode again? Plus, will McIntyre’s decision to accept this contest just three days before perhaps the biggest match of his career prove to be a big mistake?
Don’t miss this highly anticipated showdown tonight at 8/7 C, on the award-winning WWE Network.
