WWE NXT results - Sept. 4, 2014: The Ascension meet their TakeOver opponents, Fatal 4-Way participants in action

WWE NXT: September 4, 2014

ORLANDO, Fla. — With TakeOver: Fatal 4-Way just one week away, NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension found out who they will defend their titles against, as Sin Cara & Kalisto clashed with The Vaudevillains in the finals of the No. 1 Contenders’ Tournament! Plus, all four participants in the NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way competed in singles action, while NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte tuned up for her title defense against Bayley by taking on Alexa Bliss.

NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte def. Alexa Bliss
Before she tries to crush Bayley’s championship dreams next Thursday at TakeOver, the NXT Women’s Champion used her size and strength advantage to dominate Alexa Bliss and hit Bow Down to the Queen to win the match!

After the match, Bayley confronted the champion and demanded that Charlotte take her seriously, and once again offered her hand in a show of sportsmanship. Charlotte responded with a shove to the face before trying to attack her challenger. Bayley evaded the assault and sent the champion scrambling after a Bayley to Belly Suplex! Will lightning strike twice for Bayley at Takeover?

Tyler Breeze def. Tye Dillinger
Prince Pretty wasted no time in showing that he’s all business as the NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way rapidly approaches. Dillinger looked impressive until he made a mistake and caught a boot to the face from Breeze. The aggressive male model pounced on the opportunity, eventually catching Dillinger with the Beauty Shot to earn the victory.

Tyson Kidd def. Adam Rose
While Adam Rose was ready to party on NXT, Tyson Kidd was in no mood for fun. While the party animal fought out of Kidd’s clutches, his foe targeted Rose’s knee and locked him in the Sharpshooter. Trapped in the middle of the ring, Rose had no choice but to tap out, giving Kidd a big win heading into the Fatal 4-Way Match.

Sami Zayn def. Marcus Louis
After his surprising actions last week, Sami Zayn was out to build more momentum before next week’s NXT Title Match by taking on Marcus Louis. Zayn showed great heart in battling back from Louis’ onslaught, ensnaring the Frenchman in the Koji Clutch to pick up the submission victory.

With Louis subdued, Enzo Amore saw the perfect opportunity for retribution. Enzo & Colin Cassady trapped Lefort and came close to dunking his head in a bucket of hair removal cream. Lefort was able to slip away this time, but will he be able to leave NXT TakeOver with his hair still on his head?

See how Enzo got his hands on the hair cream

NXT Champion Adrian Neville def. CJ Parker
While he’ll have three opponents next week, NXT Champion Adrian Neville only had to concern himself with CJ Parker this week. The Man That Gravity Forgot used his unmatched speed and agility to dizzy the eco-warrior. Parker tried to take flight, but could not soar like the NXT Champion. Neville connected with the Red Arrow to go into the biggest challenge of his career on a high note.

Sin Cara & Kalisto def. The Vaudevillains (NXT Tag Team Title No. 1 Contenders’ Tournament Finals)
The Vaudevillains struggled to keep up with the fast-paced lucha libre offense of their opponents in this match, until Simon Gotch sent Sin Cara crashing to the arena floor with a dropkick.

The strongman and Aiden English kept Sin Cara grounded, taking control until the masked marvel avoided an attack, sending English shoulder first into the ring post. Kalisto soon sprang into action and unleashed a dizzying array of moves, stunning Gotch with Salida del Sol. That allowed Sin Cara to hit a top rope senton to earn him and Kalisto an NXT Tag Team Title Match. The luchadores had little time to celebrate, as The Ascension arrived to let their challengers know that they’re in for a fight next Thursday at TakeOver: Fatal 4-Way!
