Can Cedric Alexander silence Lio Rush?
Since losing the WWE Cruiserweight Championship to Buddy Murphy – his first defeat of 2018 – Cedric Alexander has been off his game. And after losing twice to Tony Nese and being told by WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick that he isn’t ready for a championship rematch, Alexander has been forced back to the drawing board.
Dedicated to making himself better, Alexander decided to return to the WWE Performance Center to hone his skills and recalibrate his in-ring strategy. However, during a training session, Lio Rush interrupted and berated the former champion for “going back to school.”
Undefeated in singles competition since making his WWE 205 Live debut, The Man of the Hour has not only raised his profile on the purple brand, but he’s also made his presence felt on Raw as Bobby Lashley’s hype man. Last week, the agile and lightning-fast Rush showed off a new aggressive style on his way to victory after his local opponent gained an early advantage. After the bout, Rush addressed Alexander directly, poised to prove The Age of Alexander is a thing of the past.
Can Cedric Alexander return to his winning ways, or will Lio Rush put his money where his mouth is and stymie any hopes Alexander has of challenging for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in the near-future? Find out tonight on WWE 205 Live at 7/6 C, streaming on the award-winning WWE Network.
