Shatner to usher in "The King"

The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2007 will be inducted the night before WrestleMania 23 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Currently, six legends have been called to the Hall, and the final members of the Class of 2007 will be announced Friday night on SmackDown and Monday night on Raw.

This year, WWE.com is proud to exclusively announce the chosen ones who will induct the Class of 2007 into the Hall of Fame. A new name will be announced every day between now and Thursday, March 29.

Back in 1995, legendary actor William Shatner appeared on Jerry "The King" Lawler's King's Court to promote his TV show TekWar. After Lawler threatened to boldly send the megastar where no man had gone before, Shatner shocked WWE fans by laying "The King" out flat! Now, over a decade later, the two men have patched things up just in time for the two-time Emmy Award winner to step back into action and induct Lawler into the WWE Hall of Fame. "My great claim to fame with WWE is throwing Jerry "The King" Lawler in the ring," laughed Shatner when WWE.com reached him for comments on this year's WWE Hall of Fame. "I threw him back then, and now I'll throw him right into the WWE Hall of Fame!"

Best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek, Shatner currently stars on ABC's hit show Boston Legal.

The WWE 2007 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will air on USA Network at midnight/11 CT.
