Aretha Franklin makes momentous return

After 20 years, WrestleMania has returned to Detroit. And, as the 75,000 WWE fans in Ford Field and the millions of viewers watching on pay-per-view witnessed, Aretha Franklin has returned to WrestleMania.

The "Queen of Soul" brought the jam-packed arena to their feet with her rendition of "America the Beautiful" and sent chills up the spines of all those watching just as she did two decades ago.

"It's fabulous," exclaimed Aretha. "I'm looking for someone to put a step-over toehold on. This is momentous. It's mammoth."

The vocal passion exerted by Aretha was the ideal kick-off to the biggest WrestleMania of all time. For this legendary recording artist -- and Detroit's own -- this night will leave a lasting memory.

"I was just looking at the banks of lighting… everything from the runway to the ring," Aretha explained. "I'm a hometown girl singing at WrestleMania 23, and I'm here to have a good time. I think the fans are going to have a wild time all night."
