Droz's picks for Great American Bash
What's up ladies and gents. I'm back to say what's up and give you my two-cents on my prime pay-per-view picks. Well folks, as always, on that note, lets get to the picks.
WWE Champion Triple H vs. Edge
With everything that's been going on in Edge's life lately (getting married to Vickie … what was he thinking??) and all the hoopla surrounding those nuptials, I have to wonder how truly focused he will be come Sunday at the Bash. He's no stranger to being a champion, but I think Triple H is going to put a swift end to Edge's dream on this night. Since Triple H has moved to SmackDown, it seems to have given things a little boost, and with that riding with him, he will be victorious.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Batista
I have to come right out and say I couldn't be happier that CM Punk cashed in his Money in the Bank and became World Champion. Doing it in the style that he did made it that much sweeter for myself and probably many other fans out there. Back to the present time, he's got a serious task at hand. Batista has looked extremely impressive since his draft to Raw and I think it'll take everything in Punk's arsenal to come out on top on this one. And I really do believe that CM Punk will pull everything out and retain his World Heavyweight Title in a brutal match.
ECW Champion Mark Henry vs. Tommy Dreamer
Mark Henry on his own is a very formidable opponent. By adding WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas to his corner, Henry may have solidified his hold on the ECW Title for a long time coming. He now has a Hall of Famer big man in his ear and this can only help Mark with his title reign. As we've seen in past matches, Tommy Dreamer has got a whole lot going against him. But the one thing I love about Dreamer is the fact that he will never give up and he will fight until the very end. I'd really love to pick Tommy in this match and I believe he will give Mark Henry a competitive match, but he's not coming out the ECW Champion on this night.
WWE Tag Team Championship Fatal Four Way
One thing that really sticks out to me in this match is the fact that there are four totally different styles of tag team wrestling involved. These four teams are like night and day and that's what's going to make this match that much more entertaining. I really love Jesse and Festus, especially Festus, who reminds me a little bit of my old partner. Ryder and Hawkins work really well together and have more chemistry than the other contenders. While I see all the teams giving it their all, Miz and Morrison have a firm hold on these tag titles and this isn't the time for them to let go.
John Cena vs. JBL in a NYC Parking Lot Brawl
Hopefully Cena is going to be OK after getting rammed by a speeding car. But I'm sure Super John will be up for the task come Sunday. We also have to remember New York is now JBL's stomping ground and he may have a few tricks up his sleeve in this parking lot. It really is a toss-up between the two Superstars, but I'm rooting for John Cena for the simple fact that JBL knocked me out with a kick once in the ring. So, I hope you lose you sorry NY Texan!!!
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
I hope HBK is 100 percent going into this match because Jericho is going to be out for blood. I think this could be the match of the night the way these two competitors work together. I'd love to see Shawn come out on top if only to shut Jericho up for a little while, but I don't see it happening. Y2J will be the winner.
I've been looking forward to seeing the boys on July 22 in Philadelphia for a while now, but I've been laid up in bed for the past week. If I don't catch them this time around, it probably won't be too long before I catch them again. Before I got laid up, I was getting out quite a bit, checking out my one nephew's all-star games and also enjoying taking my nieces to their track practices every week. I still have to get out to see my other nephew play tennis, so that's on my agenda.
I hope everyone out there is staying cool this summer and having a good old time. As always, it will be greatly appreciated if you could keep all our troops and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
Until next time … Peace!
