The Animal still to be unleashed at the Bash

At today's Great American Bash Press Conference, a confident Batista issued an open challenge to any competitor for this Sunday in Indianapolis, following the knee injury of The Animal's original Bash opponent, Mark Henry, at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Arriving to a wealth of "Ba-tist-a" chants, the Animal said that the hatred and anger he has built for the last six months will still be unleashed this Sunday.

"One way or another I guarantee," said an intensified Batista, "someone is getting their ass whipped at the Great American Bash!"

Fans in attendance at the press conference also witnessed a face-off between World Champion Rey Mysterio and King Booker, days before their championship match at the Bash.

King Booker proclaimed that this Sunday "will be the dawning of a new era" when he defeats the Rey Mysterio to become the new reigning (and royal) World Champion.

"[This Sunday] will be a great day in America for all of my loyal subjects to worship the new World Heavyweight Champion," exclaimed King Booker.

Rey Mysterio made his entrance into the press conference and was met by King Booker eye-to-eye at the podium, leading to an embittered stare down between the Champion and the challenger. Not intimated by the King, Mysterio raised his championship gold in the face of his rival.

King Booker stood reserved as Queen Sharmell pulled him back and ultimately returned to his seat, giving Mysterio to opportunity to respond to the former five-time World Champion's comments.

With King Booker interrupting and taunting Mysterio from his seat, Rey said that the World Championship is his life and promised that on Sunday, he will walk out of the Conseco Fieldhouse as champion.

The Great Khali and Daivari also offered some words regarding the Punjabi Prison Match with The Undertaker on July 23. Daivari declared that six days from now, the Undertaker will be stepping into his final resting place in Indianapolis, Ind., and the new resident phenomenon in the WWE will be the Great Khali.

Khali himself then uttered an emphatic and chilling message to his Bash opponent: "Undertaker! Rest…In…Peace!"

Former United States Champion Bobby Lashley refused to complain about losing the U.S. Championship last week on SmackDown and delivered his own bold message to William Regal and the man Lashley claims stole the U.S. Championship, Finlay.

"I've had to overcome all types of adversities in my life," said Lashley, "[on Sunday], that title's coming back to me."
