At WrestleMania, Edge battled Chris Jericho for the World Title. But on this night, both veterans were fighting for a chance to face newly-crowned World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules.
After a long, gritty battle it looked like The Ultimate Opportunist had Jericho where he wanted, as he stood poised to deliver a Spear. However, the former champion leaped over Edge to avoid the devastating maneuver. Afterward, Jericho dashed out of the ring. Edge wasn't far behind.
The fight continued outside the ring, spilling out into the WWE Universe. Undaunted by the ref's 10-count -- which ended the bout -- both Superstars continued to slug it out. The battle finally came to an end back inside the ring, where The Rated-R Superstar finally decimated Jericho with a venomous Spear.
