SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Oct. 15, 2015
Will SmackDown prove to be an extremely New Day?
Tonight at 8/7 C on Syfy, Dean Ambrose comes home to Cincinnati, joining forces with The Dudley Boyz against WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day — sponsored by Payday.
Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley have a huge opportunity to capture for the WWE Tag Team Titles at Hell in a Cell on Oct. 25 — where the action is sure to go extreme in a hurry. Clearly, teaming with The Lunatic Fringe is the highly decorated tandem’s way of sending a signal to the reigning titleholders that they are ready to push themselves to the limits to once again reach the top of the mountain.
Don’t count your tables just yet, however. While they often like to bring the funny, Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods have showcased a very volatile side as of late. Bottom line, not only will it be interesting to see who wins tonight’s huge Six-Man Tag Team Smackdown main event, but also who survives it.
The woman scorned is calling the shots
Woops! After Rusev answered his girlfriend Summer Rae’s marriage proposal with a “let’s wait ’til I get my title,” TMZ broke the story that The Bulgarian Brute was already engaged to Lana!
Now, after Summer responded with a painful slap onto The Bulgarian Brute on Raw, the real pain might still be in his future. That’s because tonight on SmackDown, Rusev will battle Lana’s ex-beau Dolph Ziggler — with Summer acting as the special guest referee! Can the scorned Diva possibly remain impartial? Will The Showoff be looking for some payback of his own? Where are Rusev and Lana planning to go on their honeymoon?
Reigns prepares to Bo-lieve in Hell!
In his exclusive WWE.com interview with Michael Cole earlier this week, Roman Reigns explained that he will do anything to survive in his first Hell in a Cell Match against Bray Wyatt at the Oct. 25 pay-per-view.
As The Big Dog prepares to battle Bo Dallas tonight on SmackDown, however, will The New Face of Fear add to the intimidation already weighing on the black-clad Superstar — something he excels at? Speaking of which, Luke Harper & Braun Strowman are slated for action against The Prime Time Players tonight as well. Could the ominous Wyatt Family duo also be looking to target Reigns before they get presumptively locked out of the action a week from Sunday?
Is it Team PCB or NBC?
As if the Divas Revolution couldn’t get any more intense, Monday’s Raw saw Paige get into a shoving match with Natalya during Divas Champion Charlotte & Becky Lynch’s showdown against Brie Bella & Alicia Fox, part of the commotion that ultimately cost the daughter of Ric Flair and her fiery lass of a partner the match.
So is it team NBC or Team PCB? It’s anybody’s guess at this point. Perhaps the answer will reveal itself tonight when Charlotte takes on Team Bella’s Alicia Fox!
Down with the king? Out with the Money?
Monday on Raw, the powerful Cesaro teamed with the high-flying fortitude of Neville against the team of “Mr. Money in the Bank” Sheamus and King Barrett — not a bad combo in their own right. Following the latter’s questionable victory, though, we have learned that they will square off in a raw rematch tonight! Don’t look now, but we predict this one will hurt.
