SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Jan. 2, 2015
December 30, 2014
SmackDown on the 'Edge'
As a result of the turbulent events on this week’s Raw, it was revealed during Tuesday’s WWE Main Event that Edge & Christian had filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against WWE.
In spite of that news — and the news that The Authority will once again take charge of WWE this Monday on Raw — Edge & Christian have informed the WWE Universe that they will be at the helm of the very first SmackDown of 2015!
Without a doubt, the two outspoken former World Champions will have plenty to say about the controversial events from this past Monday. Will things spin out of control yet again? Find out tonight at 8/7 CT on Syfy.
Will anyone need an ambulance?
Two days before competing in the first Ambulance Match in Raw history, both Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt are scheduled for action tonight on SmackDown. Considering the unstable nature of both competitors, one has to wonder whether it’s truly safe for anyone to step in the ring with either one of them as their grudge match fast approaches. Will Ambrose and Wyatt even wait for Monday night to get their hands on each other?
A six-man tag team party?
The Usos have plenty to celebrate after recapturing the WWE Tag Team Championship earlier this week. But will they be in the partying mood when they join R-Truth against Adam Rose and the very dangerous Gold & Stardust in six-man tag team action?
Ascension rising
Speaking of dangerous tag teams, after making their WWE debut in absolute destructive fashion on Raw, The Ascension will look to expand their dominance through the tag team ranks tonight. And if you missed the reign of terror unleashed by Konnor & Viktor on Monday — or even if you didn’t — you do not want to miss a second of their SmackDown debut!
Who will seize control of 2015?
The New Year serves as a crucial crossroads for many up-and-coming competitors who are ready to assert themselves as the next great Superstar. With SmackDown serving as this year’s first official WWE show, we are chomping at the bit to find out who will grab the bull by the horns and take their place at the head of the pack from the get go.
