SmackDown Five-Point Preview: June 4, 2015
Who will stand up to “The Champ”?
NXT Champion Kevin Owens is taking a page out of John Cena’s handbook and issuing an open challenge on SmackDown for his prized title. But who will stand up to the outspoken Superstar?
Elimination Chamber results: Owens def. Cena
Literally any Superstar in the WWE locker room could walk out onto that stage on SmackDown to try and unseat Owens as the NXT Champion. Could we see Cena himself look for retribution? There may be no better way to silence Owens than to beat him at his own game and take his coveted NXT Championship before their WWE Money in the Bank rematch. Or will we see a Superstar from NXT make his way up to the main roster to try and defeat the self-professed “The Champ”? Don’t miss SmackDown tonight at 8/7 C on Syfy to see who answer’s Kevin Owens’ NXT Championship open challenge!
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion kicks off SmackDown sans title
What a week for Seth Rollins. From thinking he had lost his match to Dean Ambrose, to retaining his championship thanks to the referee’s disqualification ruling, to watching The Lunatic Fringe flee with the title, The Architect went through an array of emotions during Elimination Chamber’s WWE World Heavyweight Title Match.
Now, the “Future of WWE” will kick off Thursday’s hottest show, presumably without the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in his possession. What will Rollins have to say about the unstable Ambrose’s recent actions? And will The Authority look to hand down payback against Rollins’ former Shield “brothers” for their actions on Raw?
Triple Threat Tag Team No. 1 Contenders’ Match
Sunday night, live on the award-winning WWE Network, The New Day retained their titles in the first WWE Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber Match. Tonight on SmackDown, three of the duos involved in that epic Elimination Chamber contest — The Prime Time Players, The Lucha Dragons and The Ascension — will battle for another opportunity at the WWE Tag Team Titles.
Watch: The Prime Time Players make a statement
These three duos will clash in a Triple Threat No. 1 Contenders’ Tag Team Match, but which tag team will rise above the competition en route to a WWE Tag Team Title Match at Money in the Bank? Find out on SmackDown!
The Big Dog clashes with The Celtic Warrior
Roman Reigns and Sheamus will both be among the competitors in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, live on the award-winning WWE Network on Sunday, June 14. But before they try to grab WWE’s career-altering contract, these two powerhouse Superstars will battle it out on Thursday’s hottest show.
After The Celtic Warrior inflicted a brutal beating on Randy Orton on Raw, will he look to deliver a similar assault against a second Ladder Match opponent on SmackDown? And what kind of condition will Reigns be in following his grueling trio of contests on Raw? See who reigns supreme when these two behemoths collide tonight at 8/7 C on Syfy.
“Miz TV” gets a Ravishing guest
“Miz TV” returned with a bang at Elimination Chamber Kickoff, as Daniel Bryan promised to come back from his latest injury, better than ever. Will we witness another emotional encounter tonight on SmackDown when Lana joins the most must-see talk show in WWE history?
Dolph Ziggler opens up about Lana
The Miz, who is no stranger to drama, will welcome The Ravishing Russian in what is sure to be a revealing interview. What will the stunning Lana have to say about her public breakup with Rusev? And will she give the WWE Universe more details about her recent interactions with Dolph Ziggler? Don’t miss “Miz TV,” tonight at 8/7 C on Syfy.
