SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Feb. 26, 2015
Second chance at overcoming Authority
Dolph Ziggler, Ryback & Erick Rowan lost a hard-fought battle to Seth Rollins, Big Show & Kane at WWE Fastlane. The talented trio will get an opportunity at redemption Thursday night, however, when they collide with Mr. Money in the Bank, The World’s Largest Athlete and WWE’s Director of Operations in SmackDown’s main event. Will The Showoff, The Big Guy & Rowan once again fall in the face of Authority? Or will this huge Fastlane rematch provide a new direction for Ziggler and his allies on The Road to WrestleMania?
WWE Fastlane exclusive: Orton comments on return | RKO outta nowhere!
It will also be interesting to see how the returning Randy Orton fits into the equation. On Monday’s Raw, while The Viper realigned with Triple H & Stephanie McMahon’s associates, there still appeared to be noticeable tension between him and Rollins. So will SmackDown end up hosting a serpentine rebellion? Don’t miss SmackDown this Thursday night at 8/7 C on Syfy in find out.
Will Daniel Bryan kick off SmackDown? Yes!
It seems Daniel Bryan’s journey to the main event of WrestleMania wasn’t meant to be this year, but that doesn’t mean the “Yes!” Movement has slowed down. Quite the contrary, as The Beard looked stronger than ever while teaming with Roman Reigns on Raw in a winning effort over Seth Rollins & Randy Orton. But with the WWE World Heavyweight Title now out of sight on The Road to WrestleMania, what’s next for WWE’s “Yes!” Man?
WWE Fastlane results: Reigns def. Bryan
Don’t miss the opening moments of SmackDown Thursday night at 8/7 C when the leader of the “Yes!” Movement kicks off the second longest-running weekly episodic program in U.S. TV history!
Will Rusev see Cena at WrestleMania 31?
After a punishing showdown at WWE Fastlane that saw Rusev defeat John Cena in controversial fashion, will we see the Cenation leader ever get another chance to topple The Super Athlete? Monday night, the 15-time World Champion pushed for a rematch on The Grandest Stage of Them All, but The Bulgarian Brute rejected the challenge.
WWE Fastlane results: Rusev def. Cena
The United States Champion and Lana will be at SmackDown, but what will the outspoken pair have to say? Unless the dominating Superstar and The Ravishing Russian have a sudden change of heart, it’s unlikely they are going to change their mind and grant Cena a rematch at The Show of Shows. Will they reveal whom Rusevdoeswant to fight at The Showcase of the Immortals? Might Cena interrupt and use “reckless abandon” to help bring the foreign Superstar around to his way of thinking? Anything’s possible on The Road to WrestleMania.
Lunatic Champion on the loose
Since setting his sights on Bad News Barrett’s Intercontinental Title, Dean Ambrose has resembled a man possessed. This became even more obvious after The Lunatic Fringe took off with the British brawler’s prestigious title following their match at WWE Fastlane.
Ambrose takes off with Barrett's Intercontinental Title
The unstable Superstar has made it clear that anyone — including the Intercontinental Champion — who wants the coveted title, will have to come and get it from him. With the crazed competitor set for action against The Miz on SmackDown, will we see the bearer of Bad News make an attempt to reclaim his prized championship? And will anyone else step up to try and get their hands on one of WWE’s hottest commodities?
Who else will join the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal?
On Raw it was announced that the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal would be returning for a second consecutive year at WrestleMania 31. The Miz, Ryback and Curtis Axel have already added their names to the huge match on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Will we see any new competitors join the prestigious over-the-top-rope Battle Royal when The Road to WrestleMania rides into Atlanta? Find out on SmackDown!
