SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Nov. 21, 2014
Big guys battle Authoritative opposition en route to Survivor Series
After multiple recruitment attempts by John Cena and The Authority, Ryback finally made a decision on Monday to join Team Cena at Survivor Series, rounding out a formidable lineup looking to stand up to Team Authority – with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s power on the line.
WWE.com exclusive with John Cena
But first, The Human Wrecking Ball will join forces with Big Show in SmackDown’s main event to take on Corporate Kane and Seth Rollins. With Survivor Series two days away, who will gain critical momentum heading into arguably the most important Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match of all time?
What is the Game-plan?
Speaking of Team Cena vs. Team Authority, Monday’s Raw not only finalized the combatants in the highly anticipated 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, but John Cena also personally delivered an emphatic message to Triple H in the form of an Attitude Adjustment through a table.
As the high-stakes showdown draws near, WWE.com has learned the WWE COO will kick off SmackDown tonight, joining Michael Cole for a special in-ring interview. With both his and his wife’s jobs on the line, just how confident is The Game heading into Sunday’s event that will, without a doubt, change the course of WWE history?
Survival of the fittest
Ever since Bray Wyatt cost Dean Ambrose his Hell in a Cell Match against Seth Rollins at last month’s pay-per-view, The Lunatic Fringe has been champing at the bit to get a piece of his adversary. Week after week, Ambrose has attempted to endure the mind games of The Eater of Worlds, while coming within inches of exacting retribution, only for Wyatt to slip away from his grasp.
Two days before two of WWE’s most erratic and unpredictable Superstars battle one another, Ambrose plans to share the contents of his “survival kit” with the WWE Universe on SmackDown. What does the unstable Ambrose have in store as he prepares for his confrontation with the unconventional and dangerous Bray Wyatt?
Will The Showoff survive?
In the course of The Authority’s crusade against Team Cena, Dolph Ziggler has taken perhaps the most punishment out of those who aligned themselves with the Cenation. This included The Showoff losing his Intercontinental Championship to Team Authority member Luke Harper – in a vicious bout preceded by a four-on-one assault by Harper, J & J Security and “Mr. Money in the Bank” Seth Rollins.
Tonight on SmackDown, Ziggler faces yet another grueling challenge as he will clash with another Team Authority member: United States Champion Rusev. Can the bleach-blond Superstar rise above to claim an important victory over one of his Survivor Series opponents? Or will the unbeaten Russian powerhouse make sure the ex-Intercontinental Champion doesn’t even make it to Sunday’s encounter?
Los Matadores invade Hollywood
With four tag teams set to collide in a WWE Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way at Survivor Series, champions Gold & Stardust aligned with The Miz & Damien Mizdow to defeat The Usos & Los Matadores in a wild 8-Man Tag Team Match on Raw.
As both teams seek a win leading into Survivor Series, Los Matadores will face The Miz & Damien Mizdow tonight on SmackDown. Can the international sensations topple the former WWE Champion and his stunt double? And what, if anything, will the WWE Tag Team Champions and the Samoan warriors have to say about it?
