SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Oct. 10, 2014
SmackDown turns 15!
It has been 15 years since SmackDown exploded onto the scene, destined to become the second-longest running weekly episodic TV show in history! Such a big blue milestone begs the question: just what’s in store for the WWE Universe tonight on Syfy?
Who might make a surprise appearance? What special matches will be made to help mark the occasion? WWE.com has learned that the first-ever SmackDown General Manager, Stephanie McMahon, will kick off the festivities. But what her plans might be are anybody’s guess. Whatever happens, one thing is for certain: Friday night will never be the same again. Tune in tonight at 8/7 CT on Syfy for SmackDown’s 15thAnniversary celebration!
What will Cena and Ambrose encounter on their journey to ‘Hell’?
It’s been reported that both John Cena and Dean Ambrose will be present for the 15th Anniversary of SmackDown. But, what’s more interesting is that Michael Cole, in his exclusive interview with COO Triple H earlier this week, hinted that a “wrinkle” to the upcoming showdown between the Cenation leader and his unstable foe at WWE Hell in a Cell might be revealed during tonight’s show.
On top of that, it’s worth mentioning that Seth Rollins is scheduled to battle Kofi Kingston. Considering both Cena and Ambrose's ongoing obsession with Mr. Money in the Bank, one has to wonder whether that match is meant to reach its natural conclusion.
Did Triple H smell what The Rock was cooking?
On Monday night, The Rock shocked the WWE Universe by returning to Raw. And speaking of Triple H’s exclusive WWE.com interview, The Game made mention of some competitive words between himself and The People’s Champion, which took place moments after Raw went off the air … and the cameras were still rolling!
Lo and behold, WWE.com has since learned that the exchange will be shown tonight on SmackDown. Don’t miss the opportunity to find out just went down between these two legendary adversaries with exclusive footage from post-Raw Monday night!
Super Athlete targets The Showoff
And while we are on the subject of The Great One, The Rock certainly made his surprise Raw appearance electrifying, sending the WWE Universe into an uproar as he layeth the SmackDown on Rusev.
As a result, a large dent was left in the iron curtain, one The Hero of the Russian Federation must work to repair in a hurry – so not to lose all the incredible momentum that he has gained in recent months. But has he made the right decision in going to war tonight on Syfy with Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler, ironically on The Rock’s show?! Only time will tell.
How will best friends fare against The Black Widow?
One need not worry. The Divas Champion is coming to the 15th Anniversary, and she is ready for action! AJ Lee will battle the dangerous Alicia Fox. And almost certainly, where Miss Fox goes, her best friend Paige will not be far behind.
