SmackDown Results: Ryback ran over Primo & Epico on The Road to WrestleMania

WrestleMania Axxess invaded SmackDown

WASHINGTON — On the final SmackDown before WrestleMania, the blue brand turned red hot as Ryback doubled the destruction, Team Rhodes Scholars and The Bella Twins dressed to ridicule and Jack Swagger’s nefarious compatriot helped the “Real American” ground the high-flying “Wildcat.”

And with WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler and Josh Mathews called the blockbuster SmackDown action, JBL and Michael Cole broadcasted from WrestleMania Axxess throughout the night, presenting insight on The Show of Shows, as well as interactive exhibits designed to bring the WWE Universe inside the squared circle like never before.

Ryback vs. Primo & Epico - 2-on-1 Handicap Match: SmackDown, April 5, 2013

Ryback takes on both Primo & Epico at the same time.

Two days before Ryback would go head-to-head with Mark Henry in an epic clash of the titans on The Grandest Stage of Them All, the irate Superstar — still seething over The World’s Strongest Man’s attack during a Bench Press Contest one week ago — chose to take on both Primo and Epico in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match.

Team Rhodes Scholars and Nikki & Brie Bella made fun of their WrestleMania adversaries

Team Rhodes Scholars & The Bella Twins make fun of their WrestleMania adversaries: SmackDown, April 5, 2013

Team Rhodes Scholars & The Bella Twins imitate Tons of Funk.

With just 48 hours standing between them and their WrestleMania Eight-Person Tag Team Match, Team Rhodes Scholars and The Bella Twins opted to ridicule their opponents — Brodus Clay, Tensai, Cameron & Naomi — by dressing up as the funky foursome.

And while Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow and their mischievous companions promised to outshine their foes on The Showcase of the Immortals this Sunday, the spoof quickly went sour, as Tons of Funk and The Funkadactyls soon emerged and put a swift end to the mockery.

But moments after the explosive “Wildcat” nearly bested Swagger with the SOS, Zeb Colter leaped up on the apron — giving his Superstar the distraction he needed to take out Kingtson’s leg and make him tap out with the Patriot Lock.
