How brutal will Sheamus and Cesaro get?

SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Dec. 14, 2012

It’ll be a clash of two titans tonight on the blue brand, as Sheamus will battle United States Champion Antonio Cesaro in one-on-one action. As the WWE Universe has seen, when the ferocious Celtic Warrior locks horns with the shockingly strong Cesaro, things get brutal — fast. One can bet the house that their bout tonight will most definitely be physical in nature, but just how fierce will the fight get?

More importantly, with both Superstars in title matches this Sunday at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs — Sheamus will take on Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship, while Cesaro will defend his U.S. Title against R-Truth — will the two titanic Superstars put their chances of victory on Sunday in jeopardy? Who will be left standing — and who will be left limping — when the dust has cleared on an epic SmackDown main event matchup?

Can Big Show find a way to make Sheamus break the no contact contract?

SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Dec. 14, 2012

He may be the largest titleholder in WWE history, but is World Heavyweight Champion Big Show also the shrewdest World Champion ever? Exerting as much effort in coming up with ways NOT to face Sheamus at WWE TLC as he has actually defending the title, The World’s Largest Athlete almost caught The Celtic Warrior in his trap last week on SmackDown.

Moments after Sheamus forced Alberto Del Rio to tap out to the devastating Texas Cloverleaf submission hold, Big Show arrived on the scene, looking to goad his pay-per-view opponent into Brogue Kicking him, which would have violated the ironclad No Contact Contract set in place by SmackDown General Manager Booker T. While Sheamus didn’t fall for the tactic, and instead came up with an ingenious way around the issue — using Ricardo Rodriguez as a human catapult to avoid contact — Big Show came THIS CLOSE to inciting the famous rage of Sheamus, and it would stand to reason that the thinking giant may have another trick or two up his enormous sleeve.

How will The Shield gain momentum on the final stop before their first pay-per-view battle?

SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Dec. 14, 2012

Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have set the WWE Universe on fire with their shocking attacks on Superstars the trio sees as committing “injustices.” Now, just one week after setting the precedent and arriving on SmackDown for the first time, will The Shield look to gain an edge — be it physical or psychological — over their WWE TLC opponents?

As we’ve seen, The Shield’s actions have become increasingly brazen over the past few weeks, and now that they stand on the precipice of their first match, there’s no telling to what lengths the group will go to get ahead. One thing’s for sure — everyone on the roster better be on the lookout.

Will Cody Rhodes – and his brand new ’stache – make an immediate impact back on SmackDown?

SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Dec. 14, 2012

While WWE TLC is first and foremost on the minds of any true sports-entertainment aficionado, a good deal of the buzz on the Internet of late has surrounded around, of all things, a brand-new mustache.

Cody Rhodes is officially off the shelf, returning from an injury he suffered at the hands of Kane on WWE Main Event. With his return comes the reformation of Team Rhodes Scholars … and, apparently, new facial hair. Cody’s mustache was so shockingly unexpected that it even initiated a “Cody’s mustache!” chant Monday night on Raw.

Facial follicles aside, though, Rhodes’ return could make Damien Sandow’s search for an apprentice a moot point, as Team Rhodes Scholars will look to make an immediate impact as a resurgent tag team – revving up for a No. 1 Contenders Tag Team Tables Match against Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio this Sunday. Just how much of an impact with the intellectual duo have on the blue brand? Tune in tonight to find out.

Can Kofi Kingston silence The Mexican Aristocrat?

SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Dec. 14, 2012

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston is set to take on Alberto Del Rio in what will assuredly be a blue brand blockbuster battle tonight on SmackDown. But can Kofi’s high-flying style counter The Mexican Aristocrat’s technical prowess? Or will Del Rio get a big win over the champion just days before Kofi will do battle against Wade Barrett with the title on the line at WWE TLC?
