Hacksaw Jim Duggan's Royal Rumble predictions
Perhaps no WWE Legend personifies an event such as the Royal Rumble like "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. Not only was Duggan famous for his brawling, rumble-like style of fighting, but he was also WWE royalty at one point when he was the King of Wrestling. Duggan is no stranger to the Royal Rumble, as he was crowned the winner of the first-ever Royal Rumble in 1988. Duggan amassed five eliminations in the inaugural event including the final two eliminations - Dino Bravo and One Man Gang.
Mickie James vs. Ashley with Trish Stratus as the special guest referee
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's pick: Mickie James
I'll go with Mickie. She seems to be obsessed with Trish and has a lot of focus. With all that focus, she'll be hard to beat. I think Ashley will just be a speedbump for her.
JBL vs. Boogeyman
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's pick: JBL
I like JBL. I think he's a good wrestler and enjoy watching him. Boogeyman counts a lot on intimidation. I think that works well down at the convenient store, but in the ring with the former WWE Champion, it won't work.
John Cena vs. Edge for the WWE Championship
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's pick: John Cena
I'll go with John. I met him and he's big and strong. I don't know Edge very well. I've heard him talking about mind games, but in a match like this mind games won't mean anything.
Kurt Angle vs. Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's pick: Kurt Angle
That's a clash of the titans. But as big and strong as Mark Henry is, I give the nod to Kurt. He's been around a while and knows all the ins and outs. He realizes what a big stage this is and will pull out all the stops. Mark hasn't been in a lot of situations like this, and Kurt's the veteran.
The Royal Rumble
Hacksaw Jim Duggan's pick: Shawn Michaels or Chavo Guerrero (dark horse)
So much depends on the order that you go in. I think the big guys like Big Show and Kane, used to be the favorites. But after so many Royal Rumbles, guys know that you have to attack the big guys. I think guys like Big Show and Kane will just be targets. I have to go with Shawn Michaels. He's paid his dues and has been around a long time. But my long shot is Chavo Guerrero. So much can happen out there and a lot of people can cancel each other out. If Triple H goes after Big Show or Benoit goes after Orton, they can cancel each other out. Guerrero is a smart ring general, so if he can keep his head down and stay in the corner and stay low, before you know it he can be one of the last guys in there and have a shot.
