When the countdown expired and the third entrant into the 2015 Royal Rumble Match arrived, the Philadelphia faithful exploded when Bubba Ray Dudley emerged. A man who made his bones in sports-entertainment in South Philly, the ECW Original stormed into the over-the-top-rope brawl and took it straight to The Miz.

With a little help from R-Truth, Bubba told The Awesome One “Wassup!” and delivered the patented Dudley Death Drop, before tossing The Miz and Truth. The son of Big Daddy Dudley lasted a few more minutes until he ran into a reunited Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.

The Eater of Worlds brazenly declared that 2015 was his year as he plowed through the competition in the Royal Rumble Match. At the start of his run, Bray Wyatt came face-to-face with another one of WWE’s scariest superstars: The Boogeyman!

Frothing at the mouth, with bits of shattered clock clinging to his skull, Boogeyman shook into the ring and stared straight into The New Face of Fear. After trying to one-up each other in mind games, Wyatt bulldozed over The Boogeyman and tossed him over the top ropes, waiting for his next victim.

The Rosebuds saved Kofi Kingston

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston has made a habit of turning his near-eliminations into a spectacle, whether it be by walking on his hands, using an office chair to avoid the floor, or dashing along the ringside barricade and making a leap of faith to the ring apron.

However, Kingston received an assist from an unlikely source. As Adam Rose made his entrance into the fracas, Kingston was hurled over the ropes and into the waiting arms of The Rosebuds. The party animals carried Kingston around ringside and placed him on the ring apron, helping Kofi avoid another elimination.

WWE’s Director of Operations has been circling the all-time record for most eliminations for several years. After Roman Reigns shattered his mark for most eliminations in a single Rumble last year, Kane entered this year’s bout seeking to etch his name in history once again.

The monster hurled four Superstars over the top rope and to the arena floor in 2015, passing Shawn Michaels’ mark of 39. The Authority henchman tossed Ryback, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and Dolph Ziggler to set the new record of 42 career eliminations. Kane shows no signs of slowing down, which could mean he’ll set the bar even higher in years to come.

The Rock gave Roman Reigns an assist

Things were looking bleak for Roman Reigns when, after dumping Big Show and Kane from the Royal Rumble Match, the two behemoths returned to the ring to pummel him. With his former Shield cohort, Dean Ambrose, gone from the proceedings, there was seemingly no one around to help him.

That was, of course, until The Rock made his presence felt in the City of Brotherly Love. The Great One rushed into the ring and evened the odds, hitting Kane with The People’s Elbow and setting up Big Show for a Superman Punch before stunning the giant with a thunderous Rock Bottom. After Reigns tossed Rusev to win the Rumble, The People’s Champion raised Reigns’ arm in victory, officially signaling the start of The Road to WrestleMania.
