The "Pazmanian Devil" visits Raw

Boxing legend Vinny Paz, known to his opponents in the ring as the “Pazmanian Devil,” stopped by Raw at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut Monday night.

Paz, a former World Lightweight and Light Middleweight Champion, is a big WWE fan who has attended several live events. He has even been involved in one, as he refereed the Bart Gunn vs. Butterbean Brawl For All Match at WrestleMania XV in 1999. Backstage at Raw, Paz said that being at Mohegan Sun was like seeing some old family.

“I love seeing (WWE). I’ve met most of the guys before at events in my hometown of Providence, so it’s like going to a reunion for me,” he said.

In fact, Paz’s visit to Mohegan Sun was a reunion of sorts between him and some new friends.

“I had the pleasure of meeting Todd Grisham and Jonathan Coachman at a charity event and we had a ball, so we became buddies. They called me and asked me to come down to the show tonight. I’m from Providence, so I took the quick trip down to hang out with the guys.”

While he enjoyed his visit, Paz was quick to reassure WWE.com that being around Raw didn’t make him contemplate a comeback.

“No, I definitely don’t feel nostalgic about being in the ring,” he admitted before adding with a chuckle, “and if you could see the girls I’m with tonight, you’d see why.”
