Prior to RAW Monday night, WWE Champion Edge and Lita traveled to John Cena's father's house in West Newberry, Mass. The Rated R couple mocked Cena's entire family, and Edge capped it off by slapping Cena's father across the face and leaving him laying in his home. Incensed by the treatment of his father by Edge during the day, Cena rushed the ring during the Rated R Superstar's match against Carlito. The all-out brawl caused a cowardly Edge to scramble away from Cena as the WWE Champion ran out of the building. In Edge's haste to leave the University of Virginia, he left his WWE Championship behind. After RAW went off the air, and as Edge was long gone from the John Paul Jones Arena, John Cena had some pointed words towards the champion.
