Arena Report - The Air Canada Centre
TORONTO -- Raw heads north to the Air Canada Centre this Monday night.
Built on the site of the Canada Post Delivery Building, the arena is capable of seating almost 20,000 fans and is the permanent home to the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors. Although still relatively new (first opening to the public in 1999), the ACC has hosted memorable WWE events.
In 2004, SummerSlam emanated from the Air Canada Centre and saw Randy Orton defeating Chris Benoit to become the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history. Two years later in 2006, Unforgiven aired live from Toronto and featured Trish Stratus defeating Lita to win her seventh Women's Championship on her final night in the ring.
Aside from bringing the good people of Toronto the best in sports-entertainment, the Air Canada Centre has also hosted, KISS, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, The Rolling Stones and many other top music acts.
