Even for a pay-per-view with no shortage of controversial outcomes, Clash of Champions’ conclusion of Cesaro and Sheamus’ final bout in their Best of Seven Series — a no contest after they battered each other to the point of disintegration — found itself high on the list. With the series ostensibly capped at a draw and a clear winner undecided, Raw General Manager Mick Foley found an ingenious way to decide who would get the championship opportunity: They both would, as a tag team, against whichever team won the Clash of Champions rematch between The New Day and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.
