Referee Brad Maddox to break silence on Raw

This Monday night on Raw, suspended referee Brad Maddox will be granted the opportunity to explain his shocking actions at WWE Hell in a Cell, WWE.com has learned.

This news comes just one day after the rogue ref was called to WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Conn., to stand before a Board of Inquiry to answer for his vicious low blow to Ryback inside Hell in a Cell. That attack — followed up by a conspicuously quick three-count and even a pin assist — cost the juggernaut a seemingly surefire WWE Title victory over defending WWE Champion CM Punk. The file on Maddox’s closed-door meeting at WWE HQ on Thursday is sealed, while the official’s attorney has yet to issue any kind of statement regarding the inquiry. As such, Monday night will mark the first time the WWE Universe will learn what was truly going through Maddox’s mind at WWE Hell in a Cell.

But how exactly will Maddox justify the most heinous act ever perpetrated by a WWE official? As Maddox rapidly counted Ryback’s shoulders to the mat, the only true explanation seemed to be that Maddox was blatantly assisting CM Punk, ensuring that The Second City Saint’s record-shattering WWE Title reign would live on. Punk has since vehemently denied any collusion with Maddox, however, leaving many to wonder what the young official had to gain by putting his career and reputation on the line that night in Atlanta. Was the limelight-stealing act some form of wish fulfillment for Maddox, whose own dream of one day becoming a main event–level WWE Superstar was left unattained? ( READ: WHO IS BRAD MADDOX?)

It might not be for the reasons Maddox hoped for when he began his journey to WWE, but all eyes will be on the mysterious referee Monday night. Two Superstars who will no doubt pay very close attention to Maddox’s explanation are the voracious Ryback — who repeatedly brutalized Maddox inside Hell in a Cell after the tainted WWE Championship bout — as well as Punk, who will likely have a great deal to say once the true circumstances of his controversial WWE Title defense come to light.

To find out what Brad Maddox has to say, tune in to Raw Monday night at 8/7 CT on USA Network.
