Raw Recall for Aug. 31, 2011
SAY WHAT?: ANATOMY ADJUSTMENT
"My reaction to what Alberto Del Rio did to me last week is to simply kick his teeth so far down his throat that his mouth becomes his anus.”
- John Cena, to the WWE Universe, in response to WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio's unprovoked attack on him the previous Monday night after he had prevailed in a match to determine the No. 1 contender.
SHOCK: HANGING UP THE SUIT
CM Punk can stop smirking now. For weeks, The Second City Savior had insulted Triple H, knowing WWE's COO would turn the other cheek. At the end of Raw, however, The Game stunned everyone by revealing that Kevin Nash will not compete at Night of Champions, as originally planned. Instead, Punk must now face Triple H himself! Will Punk continue to provoke WWE's COO? If so, how will The Game react?
FOR SHAME: CO-CONSPIRATORS
R-Truth has really done a number on The Miz. After convincing the susceptible Superstar that a conspiracy against them exists within WWE, the two have vowed to grab the spotlight - no matter the cost. Case in point, during Miz's match against CM Punk, Truth ambushed Punk and the conspiracy theorists unloaded a series of cheap shots. Can we expect these two to sink lower? And who's next in their crosshairs?
OUCH: THAT'S A WRAP!
When Zack Ryder began filming Randy Orton for his Internet show, the World Heavyweight Champion looked a bit camera shy. WWE.com captured the moment, just before he faced U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, when The Viper had had enough. Instead of scoring "Broski of the Week" accolades from Ryder, Orton instead latched onto The Long Island Iced-Z and leveled him with an RKO.
