Instant Access - Gregory Helms
WWE Instant Access with Gregory Helms
Immediately after his New Year's Revolution match with Jerry "The King" Lawler, Gregory Helms sat down with WWE.com. Here is what he had to say:
Question: Why did you abandon the Hurricane character and turn your back on the fans?
Helms: It was time for a change for Gregory Helms. I spent the last four years dedicated to making the fans laugh, and now it's time to put the emphasis back on me.
Question: You feel that the fans are not taking you seriously because of Jerry Lawler. Do you feel that fans will take you more seriously after this match?
Helms: Definitely. Anybody can see that Jerry Lawler used a low blow and an illegal fist drop to the head to win. He's supposed to be a good guy and he cheats to win. The Hurricane never had to do that, and now Gregory Helms is being cheated.
Question: What are your immediate goals now that you're on your own?
Helms: Step by step I'm going to distance myself from my past, re-establish the wrestling skills that Gregory Helms has, and then set my sights on the Intercontinental Championship and work my way up from there.
