The Miz vs. Shane McMahon (Steel Cage Match)

The Miz vs. Shane McMahon (Steel Cage Match)

At WrestleMania, The Miz and Shane McMahon could not be contained by the ring or anything else, as they tore into each other with unbridled fury in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. At WWE Money in the Bank, it will be the exact opposite, as the two Tag Team Champions turned bitter rivals will clash in the brutal confines of a Steel Cage.

Not even a move to Raw by The Miz was enough to stop Shane — “The Best in the World” — from gloating over his continued abuse of The A-Lister’s father; despite taking a chair to the torso from Miz on Night One of the Superstar Shake-up, Shane interfered in Miz’s match with Bobby Lashley to cost The A-Lister the bout and continued to mock Mr. Miz on the TitanTron as he rained cheap shots down on the former WWE Champion. Deciding that he had unfinished business with the former SmackDown LIVE Commissioner, Miz laid down the Steel Cage challenge, and the match was later accepted.

Strategy-wise, the stipulation is a risky one for The A-Lister. With its high walls, a Steel Cage seems to favor Shane’s daredevilry, at least on paper. But Shane would do well to avoid thinking that a win is a foregone conclusion. Even The Best in the World is only as good as his last match, and Shane didn’t so much win that WrestleMania brawl as escape with the victory. With Miz angry, motivated and putting on some of the best matches of his career, Shane may well end up ruing the day he found himself with nowhere to hide.

Tune in to find out who prevails in the Steel Cage when WWE Money in the Bank streams live on the award-winning WWE Network on Sunday, May 19 at 7 ET/4 PT.
